The nine-day festival, which symbolises the victory of good over evil, started on October 3 and will continue till October 12. As the celebration of Sharad Navratri begins today, is alcohol prohibited in India? On the occasion of Navratri, there won't be a dry day in the country. Though not a dry day today, on October 3 for Navratri, alcohol is prohibited in Haryana and parts of NCR owing to the Haryana Legislative Assembly Elections. The month of October has the following dry days - October 8, which celebrates the end of Alcohol Prohibition Week; October 12, which is Dussehra; and October 17, which marks Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti.
