The streets of Bunol, a town in eastern Spain, turned crimson on Wednesday as thousands of revellers participated in the annual Tomatina festival. The event, held every year in the last week of August, saw around 22,000 participants donning white clothes, soon splattered with tomato pulp, in a spirited tomato-throwing battle. Several photos and videos have surfaced on social media, showing people enjoying La Tomatina 2024 in Spain. Seven trucks delivered 150 tons of ripe pear tomatoes to the eager crowd, many of whom were international visitors. The event kicked off at 11 am, and people threw tomatoes at each other and enjoyed the festival. The city got drenched in red.
