During a candid conversation with Kashmiri women in Srinagar, Indian National Congress (INC) leader Rahul Gandhi said he does not plan on getting married soon but thinks marriage is a good thing.
During a candid conversation with Kashmiri women in Srinagar on August 26, Indian National Congress (INC) leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was asked about his marriage by the women. On being asked what he thought about marriage, Rahul Gandhi replied, "I have lasted that pressure for 20-30 years now, but I think it (marriage) is a good thing." Another woman in the group asked him if he planned on getting married anytime soon. To this, Rahul Gandhi said that though he does not plan to get married soon, he is not averse to the option either. In the interview video on his YouTube channel, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "Marriage emerged as another engaging topic of discussion - with each girl bravely sharing her perspective." Beyond this, the women also asked the Congress leader if he'd always wanted to be a politician as a kid. To this, Rahul Gandhi said, "Not as a kid, but after Papa (former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi) passed away." It was when his father, former Congress leader and Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi passed away that Rahul Gandhi considered walking in his footsteps to become a politician.
