Comedian and politician Shyam Rangeela, known for mimicking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, alleged that the officials did not accept his nomination form when he went to submit it. Rangeela is set to contest the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Varanasi as an Independent candidate. Shyam Rangeela said he had proposers; his form was filled, but the Returning Officer did not accept his form. Rangeela said he will try to submit his nomination form again tomorrow (May 14). On Friday (May 10), Rangeela claimed he was facing problems obtaining the nomination form, as the authorities were making it difficult for him, and urged the Election Commission of India to intervene. PM Narendra Modi, Ajay Rai from the Congress-SP alliance, and BSP’s Atahar Jamal Lari are also contesting the Varanasi seat. Varanasi will vote in the seventh and final phase of polling on June 1.
