Naik's resignation from the saffron party comes days after BJP gave a ticket to his father, Ganesh Naik, from the Airoli seat for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Naik said that he had submitted his resignation from the position of BJP Navi Mumbai District President and the party's membership to State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule. "I express my gratitude to the Bharatiya Janata Party for the trust it placed in me," his tweet in Hindi read.
