The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has clinched two of the four seats it contested in the recent biennial Maharashtra Legislative Council election. This follows their morale-boosting victories in the Lok Sabha elections. The ruling Mahayuti alliance successfully retained its stronghold on the Konkan Graduates and Nashik Teachers' seats. The Shiv Sena (UBT) emerged victorious in two constituencies, with Anil Parab winning the Mumbai Graduates seat and JM Abhyankar securing the Mumbai Teachers seat. Meanwhile, the BJP’s incumbent MLC from Konkan Graduates, Niranjan Davkhare, defended his position successfully.
