Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has provided clarity on why the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections will not be conducted alongside those in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. In a recent statement, Kumar explained, "Last time, Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections were held together. At that time, J&K was not a factor, but this year we have four elections, with a fifth one following immediately. These include J&K, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Delhi." He added that the decision to conduct two elections together was made based on the requirement of security forces. Additionally, heavy rainfall in Maharashtra and upcoming several festivals have also influenced the decision to stagger the election timelines. Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 Date and Full Schedule: Polling on October 1, Results on October 4.
