In the first assembly elections since the abrogation of Article 370, the National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance secured a decisive win in Jammu and Kashmir, bagging 48 out of 90 seats. The alliance is set to form the next government in the Union Territory. The BJP, coming in second, won 29 seats, while the PDP managed to win three. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also marked its entry into Jammu and Kashmir politics, with Mehraj Malik securing the Doda seat in a historic first for the party.
