Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia was greeted by a large gathering of party leaders and workers outside Tihar Jail following his release on bail. The Supreme Court granted Sisodia bail on August 9 in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Sisodia spoke to the media, saying, "Ever since this order came in the morning, every inch of my skin has been feeling indebted to Babasaheb. I don't understand how I will pay off this debt to Babasaheb." He highlighted that Babasaheb Ambedkar's vision of constitutional protection against dictatorial actions had been realised in his case. "If any dictatorial government comes to power and puts opposition leaders behind bars by forming dictatorial laws, then this country's Constitution will protect them," he asserted. Manish Sisodia Granted Bail: Supreme Court Grants Bail to AAP Leader in Delhi Liquor Policy Case, Says ‘In the Matter of Liberty, Every Day Counts’.
