Sada Sarvankar, a Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) MLA from Mumbai, claimed that former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray had asked him to attack then Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi's residence. He further alleged that executive editor of the Shiv Sena UBT mouthpiece Saamana Sanjay Raut had asked him to set the house of then Joshi on fire if he wanted to get a ticket for the Legislative Assembly. "I was told by Uddhav Thackeray to attack Manohar Joshi's residence because the latter had opposed my ticket. As I left with my workers, I received a call from Sanjay Raut instructing me to carry petrol and to set the house of Manohar Joshi on fire", the latter told ANI.
