Amid the ongoing row over India vs Bharat, the NCERT panel on Wednesday, October 25, recommended replacing "India" with "Bharat" in all school textbooks. Reacting to the NCERT panel's recommendation, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, "Why are we saying the Reserve Bank of India, Indian Administrative Service and Indian Foreign Service?" He also said that in the passports, we have the Republic of India. Taking a dig at the Modi government, the Congress leader said that something wrong has happened to the government. "Why are they confusing the minds of Indians? Whatever stand they have taken is completely anti-people, anti-India, and anti-Bharat," he added. DK Shivakumar also said that the NCERT has been forced by the NDA government while stating that it is completely wrong. "You can't change the history of India," he stated while saying that Karnataka will continue with whatever was earlier. India vs Bharat: NCERT Panel Recommends Replacing 'India' With 'Bharat' in School Textbooks.
