Passengers of Mumbai local trains held a unique "Wear Your White" protest today, August 22, in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The protest, which ten commuter organisations initiated, started at several stations today and saw passengers protesting against poor train services in Mumbai. Multiple videos and pics online show passengers wearing white attire and black armbands or masks to express their dissatisfaction over train delays and other issues. The "Wear Your White" protest comes after a meeting was held on August 14 between passenger associations and railway officials. During the meeting, passengers raised concerns and also proposed potential solutions. It is learned that the associations distributed 25,000 black ribbons to passengers to participate in the protest after the meeting's outcome was unsatisfactory.
