Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi publicly voiced his criticism against the government’s proposed scheme of importing cheetahs from South Africa, calling it an act of cruelty. Taking to X, Varun Gandhi expressed his dismay after the Project Cheetah Head announced Cheetahs would be imported from South Africa and introduced into MP's Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary. "Importing cheetahs from Africa and allowing nine of them to die in a foreign land is not just cruelty, it's an appalling display of negligence. We should focus on conserving our own endangered species and habitats rather than contributing to the suffering of these magnificent creatures. This reckless pursuit of exotic animals must end immediately, and we should prioritise the welfare of our native wildlife instead," Gandhi posted on X, formerly Twitter. Cheetahs That Do Not Develop Thicker Winter Coats to Prevent Infections Shall Be Imported From South Africa, Says Project Head SP Yadav.
