On Saturday, May 11, a┬аmassive crowd of devotees┬аgathered on the narrow hillside route approaching to Yamunotri in Uttarakhand. Yamunotri is one of the┬аfour┬аpilgrimages that make up the 'Char Dham Yatra', along with Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. A┬аday after the gates of the Yamunotri temple in the Garhwal Himalayas were opened to devotees, a large rush┬аof people were observed waiting in lengthy lines for hours. According to reports,┬аthe devotees said that they had been waiting on the restricted walkway for almost two hours and that the authorities had not properly considered crowd control and safety. On the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on May 10, the temples at Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Gangotri in the Garhwal Himalayas opened their doors to pilgrims, marking the start of the Char Dham Yatra. Meanwhile, a clip of the massive rush on the┬аYamunotri temple route is currently doing rounds on social media.┬аChar Dham Yatra 2024 Begins: 'Har Har Mahadev' Chants Echo as Doors of Kedarnath Dham, One of 12 Jyotirlingas, Open With Full Rituals (Watch Video).
