In Haridwar, police on Thursday, July 25, arrested five individuals, including a woman, for selling ganja to Kanwariyas during the Kanwar Yatra. The accused, identified as Ankita, Rakesh alias Kalu, Mohammad Shahid, Rahul Pratap Singh, and Lokesh Sharma, were apprehended with 45 kg of ganja in their possession. The arrested individuals were part of two gangs that supplied the narcotic to Kanwariyas, attending the annual pilgrimage. Reportedly, earlier on Tuesday, July 23, police arrested two individuals and seized 25 kg of ganja from their vehicle. These arrests underscore ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking during the Yatra.
