In a tragic incident that has gone viral on social media from Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba, a 35-year-old man named Devendra from Chandon village was electrocuted on Tuesday afternoon when a long bamboo stick he was carrying touched an overhead high-voltage electricity wire. The incident occurred at his relative's house in Jasoda Nagar. The video shows Devendra walking inside the house, carrying the bamboo stick, when it accidentally touched the high-voltage wire. Devendra fell with a strong jolt, hitting his head on an iron gate, and died within seconds as his family members rushed to assist him. Devendra had come to Jasoda Nagar to attend a religious program hosted by his cousin, Suvendra Singh. At the time of the incident, the family was preparing to go to the temple, with some members making prasad and others preparing for rituals. Devendra had brought the bamboo stick to tie a flag as part of the ritual when the tragedy occurred. Family members believe the bamboo stick, being wet from recent rains, conducted electricity, leading to the fatal accident. Despite immediate efforts to revive Devendra and rushing him to the district hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
