A video showing a dead body hanging in the Ganga River in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr has surfaced on social media. As per the reports, a family was led to believe that submerging the body of a deceased youth in the river Ganga could miraculously bring him back to life. 20-year-old Mohit succumbed to a snake bite on April 26. In a desperate bid influenced by local superstitions, the bereaved family and villagers hanged Mohit's body with a rope over the Ganga, following advice that immersion could lead to resurrection. The body was dangled in the turbulent waters for an extended period as a crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene.
