After a frantic search by police and villagers, the toddler's body was discovered near the cremation ground during the early hours of July 16. Disturbingly, the girl's body bore marks of a sharp weapon. While there is speculation that the murder might be linked to "black magic," the exact motive remains unclear. The police have sent the body of the victim for postmortem.
