Two men were arrested by UP Police on Thursday, August 29, for raping a 28-year-old woman in Saharanpur. The accused, part of a wedding procession originating in Yamunanagar, Haryana, had allegedly spotted the survivor alone at home during the procession when they committed the crime. After raping the woman, the accused had reportedly fled to Haryana to evade capture. However, after the complaint was filed, the Saharanpur police launched an investigation into the matter and scrutinized nearby CCTV footage. With the cooperation of the groom's brother-in-law, the accused were identified and eventually arrested from Haryana.┬аJhansi Shocker: Woman and Relatives Booked for Filing Fake Gang Rape Case in Uttar Pradesh, Victim Admits to Fabrication.
