In a tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Ghaziabad, a policeman named Pammi, assigned to EVM security, committed suicide with his service rifle on Tuesday night. Before his death, he recorded a three-minute video, alleging blackmail by his girlfriend and expressing that he saw no other way out. Pammi urged authorities to punish his girlfriend severely to prevent her from ruining anyone else's life. Pammi, a 2018 batch officer from Aurangabad Ahir village in Bulandshahr, was currently stationed at the EVM store in Muradnagar Municipal Office. His colleague, Dhyanchand Singh, was away when Pammi took his own life at around 8 PM. In the video, Pammi revealed that he had been harassed for two years by a girl from his village, who lived opposite his house. He accused her of trapping him and then blackmailing him for money, with assistance from a man named Amit and her friend Guddan from Meerut. He claimed to have given them INR 6 lakh over the period and faced continuous demands for more money, accompanied by threats of false FiRs and imprisonment. Pammi described the immense stress he was under, to the point of not being able to eat properly and even attempting suicide before. He said he sold his wife's jewelry to meet the demands but received no respite. Before ending his life, Pammi appealed to the administration to ensure the girl receives a punishment severe enough to prevent her from harming others in the future and called for legal reforms to protect men from similar situations. The police have registered an FIR against the girlfriend and her two accomplices and launched an investigation into the case. ‘Called Bandariya’: Woman Executive of Axis Bank in Noida Dies by Suicide, Leaves Note Blaming Colleagues for Workplace Harassment.
