The Tirunelveli police have registered a case against Jalal Ahmad, the owner and trainer of Jal NEET Academy, for brutally assaulting students. CCTV footage, which went viral on social media, shows Ahmad beating boys with a stick for reportedly sleeping during early morning classes and throwing footwear at girl students after one left her shoes in an unspecified location. The incidents, which occurred last month, came to light following complaints from a staff member and several students. Commissioner of Police Rupesh Kumar Meena confirmed the case against Ahmad, whose academy currently enrols around 100 students from various parts of the city.
