Tiger Spotted in Hyderabad: Tiger Seen Crossing Highway Near Nirmal-Adilabad Border in Kuntala Forest, Video Surfaces
A tiger was spotted crossing NH 44 near the Nirmal-Adilabad border in Telangana’s Kuntala Forest. Captured on video by a motorist, the sighting has raised safety concerns among travelers.
In a rare and startling sighting, a tiger was captured on video late Sunday night as it crossed National Highway 44 at the border between Telangana’s Nirmal and Adilabad districts. The footage, taken by a passing motorist, shows the tiger moving across the highway near forested areas between Kuntala and Sarangapur mandals, leading to concern among travellers who witnessed the event. Telangana’s Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, R.M. Dobriyal, stated that the tiger was initially observed by passersby near the Ghanpur check post in the Boath range of Adilabad’s Echoda division. "Our teams are monitoring the tiger’s movements daily," Dobriyal noted, adding that the animal had since made its way toward the Mandal range in Nirmal. Chief Wildlife Warden Eluding Meru shared that forest personnel were on-site during the sighting and managed to record the tiger on video. According to officials, the tiger may have roamed from Maharashtra in search of a new habitat or a mate, possibly due to the current mating season. The Forest Department has urged the public to keep a safe distance from the tiger and refrain from approaching or interacting with it.
