In Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district, a woman was forcibly abducted after her son, Pallapu Srinivas, failed to return to a sugarcane farm job in Maharashtra, despite taking a INR 3 lakh advance from the employer. Srinivas had worked on the farm for three months but returned home and did not go back, prompting the employer to send a group to locate him in his village. When they couldn’t find Srinivas, the group demanded repayment from his family. After his wife refused to accompany them, they forcibly took his mother. A video shows two women among the abductors and Srinivas’ children crying as their grandmother was taken away. The group used a Telangana-registered car to avoid detection. Following a complaint from Srinivas’ son, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
