S. Balachandran, Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, has announced the presence of a well-marked low-pressure area over the east-central Arabian Sea and a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal near the Tamil Nadu coast. He stated that the Arabian Sea system is expected to concentrate into a depression within the next two to three days.
