The Chennai Central–Bodinayakkanur superfast express train derailed this morning at Madurai Junction after one of the wheels of the train derailed. According to news agency ANI, the incident occurred at around 7:36 AM when one wheel of the Second Class, Luggage, Guard cum Physically Challenged (LSLRD) coach, which was positioned next to the engine of train number 20601 Chennai Central-Bodinayakkanur Express, derailed while shunting. The derailment occurred when the express train as the train was departing from Madurai Junction Platform number 5 toward Bodinayakkanur. According to reports, no passengers were affected, and all other train operations at Madurai Junction continued as usual.
