A 26-year-old omni-bus driver, Karuppiah from Tiruvadanai, was tied up and beaten by his employer, Rajasekar, and others on Tuesday night, July 23 in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai. Employed by RPT Travels, Karuppiah was driving a bus from Nagercoil to Tirupati. Upon arrival at the Madurai omni bus stand at 11:45 p.m., he was summoned to the office room, where Rajasekar and his employees accused him of siphoning passenger money. They tied his hands to a window and beat him, demanding a confession. A video of the assault went viral on social media.
