A female tusker and a newborn calf, likely her baby, were found dead in a tea estate near Valparai on Saturday, August 27. As per reports, the corpses of the two were sent for autopsy on Sunday. The officials later revealed that the mother elephant and the calf could have died due to complications during delivery.
