Manuj Kathuria, the SUV driver linked to the deaths of three civil services aspirants in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar, has been arrested. The incident occurred on July 27 when heavy rains flooded the basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle. According to police, Kathuria's reckless driving through a waterlogged street caused the floodwater to breach the coaching centre's gates and inundate the basement, leading to the tragic drownings. An old video of Kathuria reviewing the Force Gurkha SUV has since gone viral. In the clip, he discusses maintaining a speed that ensures comfort for the driver, car, and pedestrians. Despite his words, police claim his actions contributed to the fatal flooding. Meanwhile, the court criticised the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the investigation, questioning the accountability and responsibility of officials. So far, only one MCD official has been jailed, but the court emphasized the need for broader accountability. Kathuria, a businessman, is among seven people arrested in the case.
