Indian equity benchmarks plunged over 1.5 per cent to their lowest since October 28, on Friday, extending their losses for the fourth straight session marking a “Black Friday” for investors. Nifty gradually inched lower as the session progressed and finally settled closer to the day’s low to close at 17,806.8 levels. The 30-share BSE Sensex crashed 1000 points to 59,765.
