At least 23 Army men went missing on Wednesday morning as a result of a flash flood in Sikkim's Lachen Valley's Teesta River. A search operation has been launched. According to defence officials, some Army vehicles were swamped in the flash flood. After the cloud burst near Singtam, Sikkim issued a flash flood warning. The flash flood wiped away a part of NH-10 at Melli, which connects Sikkim to West Bengal. Further, the Singtam Inderni bridge connecting Adarsh Gaon was also washed away by the Teesta River. Visuals of the incident are currently doing rounds on social media.
