However, according to a news report, these claims are misleading, as the video can be traced back to 2018. The video, which has resurfaced again with false claims, was originally uploaded and shared by NDTV's verified YouTube channel on September 3, 2018, titled "Stones, Slipper Thrown At Shivraj Singh Chouhan At Rally." The incident occurred during a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi when Chouhan was about to address the gathering. The video shows the slipper being hurled at him and also captures the commotion that ensued on stage.
