The Indian government on Saturday, December 16, announced one day of state mourning on December 17 as a mark of respect for the passing away of Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait. Ministry of Home Affairs notified that the government of India has decided that there will be one day of State Mourning on December 17 throughout the country in the wake of the demise of Kuwait's Emir. "The National Flag will be flown at half-mast throughout India on all buildings where the National Flag is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment on the day," the Ministry of Home Affairs said.
