While hearing the pleas regarding "bulldozer action" against people accused of crime across the country, the Supreme Court said that no demolition in the country should take place without its permission. "No demolition of property anywhere in India will take place without permission of the Court till October 1, the next date of hearing," the apex court said. However, the country's top court clarified that its order will not be applicable to any unauthorised construction on public roads and footpaths, among others. The Supreme Court bench of Justice BR Gavai and KK Viswanathan passed the order while hearing a batch of pleas challenging bulldozer demolition action undertaken by authorities in relation to the house of persons accused of crime.
