The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Modi government for a "timeframe" to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Asserting that "restoration of democracy is important", Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud asked the Solicitor General Tushar Meta to make a clear statement as to when Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood will be restored.
