A 32-year-old man was swept away by strong currents at Sheldi Dam located at Khed in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district on Sunday, July 14. The incident occurred amidst heavy downpours that have caused rivers in the district to swell. The man was later identified as Jayesh Ramchandra Ambre (32). A video of the incident shows Jayesh being carried away by the powerful currents while he was at the dam with his friends. The municipality and administration have initiated a rescue operation to locate him. Due to the heavy rains, an alert has been issued in Ratnagiri district.
