The Delhi High Court today, August 13, ordered Rajdeep Sardesai, consulting editor of India Today, to take down the video he uploaded on X (Twitter) where he accused BJP leader Shazia Ilmi of "abusing" an India Today video journalist. "You had no authority to record and no authority to use," the high court said. Last month, journalist-turned-BJP spokesperson Shazia Ilmi accused India Today Television and its consulting editor, Rajdeep Sardesai, of objectifying her. Taking to X, Ilmi claimed that a video released by the network showed her struggling to remove a lapel mic while the cameraman focused uncomfortably on her upper body. She also stated that the cameraman continued to record her despite her requests to stop filming. Shazia Ilmi Lambasts Rajdeep Sardesai for Defending Video Journalist Who ‘Objectified’ Her, Says ‘Cameraman Continued to Focus on My Upper Body’ (Watch Video).
