In a tragic incident in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district, seven members of a family lost their lives, and three others are missing after their SUV was swept away by the flooded Jaijon Choe, a seasonal rivulet swollen by heavy rains on Sunday. The family, along with their driver, was traveling from Dehra in Himachal Pradesh to Mehrowal village in SBS Nagar for a wedding when their vehicle was caught in the raging waters. Locals managed to rescue one occupant, who was taken to the Government Dispensary in Jaijon. Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagir Singh confirmed that seven bodies, including two women, have been recovered. Search efforts are ongoing to locate the three missing persons.
