Panic gripped the Railway Road area of Doraha in Punjab’s Ludhiana on Wednesday evening when two unidentified miscreants opened fire at a jeweller's shop. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media. Manpreet Verma, the shop owner, narrowly escaped injury as the glass in the shop shattered. Verma was closing his shop when two masked men on a motorcycle stopped outside and the pillion rider fired five to six rounds, damaging the shop's gate and counter. The attackers fled the scene. Police arrived promptly, recovered several revolver shells, and began reviewing CCTV footage. Verma stated he could not identify the attackers and had no known enemies. The investigation is ongoing.
