Supporters of a right-wing group (Pawan Sanghatna) vandalised the Liquid Leisure Lounge pub (L3) on Fergusson College Road on Monday, accusing it of promoting drug abuse. This came after viral videos on social media showed youth consuming drugs inside the pub. This incident follows the arrest of eight individuals, including the pub's proprietors and managers, by Pune city police on Sunday. Additionally, two constables, a police inspector, and an assistant inspector were suspended for dereliction of duty. The police investigation revealed the pub violated the 1:30 am closing time, operating until 5 am on Sunday. The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Pune police crime branch has launched a probe after visuals of alleged drug use at the establishment circulated online. The police and excise department have initiated a crackdown against the lounge.
