In Pune, a school van driver has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly engaging in obscene conversations with a girl student and following her on social media. The incident came to light after the student lodged a complaint on August 22, 2024. Upon learning of the situation, members of Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) confronted and assaulted the driver before handing him over to the police. A video circulating on social media shows MNS workers beating the driver, who was dressed in a blue uniform, while he pleaded for mercy. The Pune Police have since launched a probe into the allegations against the driver.
