A 25-year-old Chartered Accountant (CA), identified as Anna Sebastian Perayil, reportedly died due to work-related stress while employed at Ernst & Young (EY) in Pune. The family has alleged that none of Anna’s colleagues attended her funeral, as detailed in a letter shared by Malavika Rao on X. The letter addressed to EY India Chairman Rajiv Memami was purportedly written by Anna's mother. The letter claimed that Anna, who joined EY as an Executive on March 19, 2024, faced intense pressure from her job, resulting in severe physical, emotional, and mental strain. Her mother described Anna’s relentless work schedule, including long hours and additional tasks, which allegedly exacerbated her health issues. The family’s letter outlined how Anna was suffering from anxiety and sleeplessness, conditions they attributed to her demanding workload. Despite seeking medical advice, Anna continued working under the strain, ultimately leading to her untimely death.
