Amid the gruesome rape and murder of RG medical hospital's trainee doctor, PM Narendra Modi said that as a society, the country has to seriously think about the atrocities against women that are happening nationwide. Expressing pain, PM Modi said that the country, society, and State Governments will have to take incidents of rape and atrocities against women seriously. "Speedy investigation of crimes against women, those executing these monstrous deeds be awarded strict punishment at the earliest - this is important to instill confidence in society," he added. Hinting at capital punishment for such acts, PM Narendra Modi said that those committing such sins understand that this leads to hanging.
