Condoling her death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was deeply pained by the passing away of Pappammal Ji. "She made a mark in agriculture, especially organic farming," his post read. The Indian Prime Minister also said that people admired Pappammal for her humility and kind nature. The 108-year-old organic farmer from Tamil Nadu died due to old age. She hailed from Thekkampatti near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district.
