Heavy rains on Wednesday led to water leakage in the Lobby of the newly inaugurated Parliament Building, raising concerns about the structure’s weather resilience. Reports indicate waterlogging around the premises, particularly near the New Parliament’s Makar Dwar, with several videos of the incident going viral on social media. The Lok Sabha Secretariat clarified that the building incorporates glass domes in several areas, including the Lobby, to maximise natural light as part of the Green Parliament initiative. During the downpour, the adhesive material securing the glass domes was slightly displaced, resulting in minor water leakage in the Lobby. The issue was promptly identified, and corrective measures were taken immediately. No further leakage has been reported since. Additionally, the accumulated water near Makar Dwar was quickly drained, according to the Lok Sabha Secretariat. New Parliament Building Leaking?
