Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today, August 3, spoke with the captain of the Indian hockey team, Harmanpreet Singh, after India's historic win over Australia in the ongoing Paris Olympic Games. During his conversation ahead of the quarterfinal match against Great Britain, Bhagwant Mann told Harmanpreet Singh said that he wanted to come and encourage the team but was not given political clearance. "I was planning to attend the quarterfinal but the Central government said I cannot go. I will not be able to come there (Paris) but I am with you," Mann is heard telling Singh. The Indian men's hockey team will lock horns with Great Britain in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Sunday, August 4.
