In a gesture of goodwill, the Pakistan High Commission has sent baskets of mangoes to several Indian Members of Parliament, as per the reports. According to the reports, recipients of the mangoes from the Pak High Commission include Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, and Samajwadi Party MPs Mohibbullah Nadvi, Zia Ur Rehman Barq, Afzal Ansari, Iqra Choudhary, and Kapil Sibal. The mango diplomacy is not new. During Eid 2015, the then Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had sent 10 kg of mangoes to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent leaders, including President Pranab Mukherjee, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
