While addressing a public rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah launched a verbal attack on the district administration officials. During his speech, Abdullah claimed that the administration asked him to wrap up his campaign 20 minutes before the time mandated by the Election Commission. Amid cheers from the people, Abdullah said that while he was going to conclude his speech in five minutes, “now he will continue the addresses till 2 pm even if he has to narrate stories to the people.” The ECI has permitted us to campaign here, and some ‘outsider’ officer who is ‘ruling’ here is asking us to take permission from him, the latter added in his speech.
