The Odisha government has announced a holiday for schools in several districts of the state in view of the impending cyclonic storm, Dana, over the Bay of Bengal. As per the official notification, schools will remain closed in Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Khurda, Nayagargh and Cuttack districts from October 23 to 25 in view of the impending cyclonic storm Dana over the Bay of Bengal. Meanwhile, the Met office said that the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal on Monday, October 21, intensified and is likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm by October 23 and reach the coasts adjoining Odisha and West Bengal the next day, thereby bringing heavy rain in the two states for three days till Friday, October 25.
