The Delhi Police has imposed a ban on the flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms over the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi during the swearing-in ceremony of the Narendra Modi-led central government on June 9. This precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety of the general public, dignitaries, and vital installations. The restrctions have been imposed for two days on June 9 and 10. The order, issued by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, prohibits the use of paragliders, para-motors, hang gliders, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned aircraft systems (UASs), microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small-sized powered aircraft, quadcopters, and para-jumping from aircraft. The decision comes amid concerns that criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists hostile to India may pose a threat during the high-profile event.
