A woman narrowly escaped tragedy after slipping into the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Bank Canal while taking selfies with her family in Nalgonda district on Friday morning. The incident occurred at Vemulapally mandal headquarters, where the family, travelling from Hyderabad to Miryalguda, had stopped to take pictures near the Vemulapally bridge. While posing for selfies, the woman lost her balance and fell into the canal. Fortunately, locals who witnessed the fall acted swiftly, jumping into the canal to rescue her. They managed to bring the woman to the retaining wall, and with the help of a rope, they pulled her to safety onto the bridge.
